Your training takes place just north of Barrie Ontario in beautiful Horseshoe Valley. At this location you'll enjoy year-round training grounds, diverse terrain and over 140 km of forest trails.

Meet Clinton Smout 
Founder, Owner & Trainer

Clinton Smout has been riding his entire life and holds numerous training certifications! As a former Chief Instructor for motorcycle licensing courses at Humber College, Clinton’s true passion was off-road riding

He realized that the lack of off-road training opportunities was a problem he could fix, so he opened CMTS, then SMART Adventures.

After watching the series “Long Way Round” in 2005, Clinton was inspired to add BMW GS Rider Training to his programming. We’re so glad he did!

In over 25 years, Clinton and his team have had the privilege of training over 130,000 students, with over 70% of those being first-time riders.

Clinton’s motorcycle expertise is renowned across North America and beyond.

Where to Stay

We are located at beautiful Horseshoe Resort. For those traveling to our course, we recommend booking accommodations the night before to ensure a fresh start to your training day.
